The Rouge Institute

YAY for new adventures! I am getting involved with a new website called The Rouge Institute. I am excited to say the creator has one spiffy site. It has reviews on products with women of all kinds of skin tones, skin types, etc. They also have a section dedicated to informing readers on some science behind makeup, haircare, and all sorts of fun readings. Laura Mercier Holiday 2013 Palette

 Here is the beauty. The palette is sleek and almost like an ostrich *faux* leather. It is magnetic on the front so it will stay shut!!
Overall I give packaged based on looks, ease of transport a 3.9/5 WOO

Just glancing at the palette's color selection, I LOVE them. This is the first LM eyeshadows I have ever owned. I originally purchased 2 during the VIB sale this winter for my sister and I. I really knew I would love it. I immediately started playing with it and MY GOSH the colors blend so effortlessly. I will admit I never swatched it though, until for this blog post. Let me tell you, these are the MOST velvety, smooth eyeshadows I have swatched thus far ( even though I rarely swatch :-) )

The only shadow I have a love/hate with is African Violet. It had a quite a bit of fallout (hate) but the color on the lid is 100% (love). The fallout is an easy enough fix that it wouldn't be a deal breaker. 

For quality I give it a 4.7/5 in my book!!

Life Lately

AHHHH, where to begin?
Lately, I have been bombarded with school and work. I have been trying my best to keep up. Unfortunately, the blog I wanted to start took the back seat. I love makeup and all the girly things and I know that no one will most likely read this LOL but I am ok with that. It is for me and youtube is just something I am not interested in. Love watching them though. I do hope to gain followers on here though and be more consistent!

Favorite Purple Lip Combo

Hey Lovelies!

Today I am going to be sharing my fave purple lip combo- and a great plus is they are both drugstore. YAY cheap!

The lipstick is Maybelline Color Whisper in color #90 "Oh La Lilac" and the Gloss I use is Revlon's #200 "Lilac Pastelle". The thing about the lip gloss is it has SPF of 15! Pretty cool for a purple lip gloss =D

The bottom shows how it can be very buildable!

This is the same swatches just with the flash on. As you can tell from the bottom, this purple has some blue base to it.

Overall, I love this combo. For the price it is awesome!! Plus, I love both of the lines so I will more than likely be buying more Color Whisper and Revlon glosses! Now, I will end with a picture of myself wearing this combo in outdoor lighting!

Huge Welcome!!

I would like to take this time and welcome you to my blog. I love makeup and have a TON. I love comparing and finding dupes, etc., so I thought a blog would be a perfect place to do this. I know blogs reviews and opinions always help with my decision on products, so I would like to help y'all out too!

Paint Pot VS. Color Tattoo

Today, I will be comparing the infamous Mac Paint Pot in Bare Study, and the Color Tattoo Metal by Maybelline in color Inked in Pink.
Both are beautiful shades with shimmer to them. Mac's size is .17 oz where as Color Tattoo is .14 oz. 

Mac wins the size contest.
Both formulas claim to be long-lasting, and Maybelline goes as far as saying 24 hours. I do not think it is 24 hours, but it comes pretty close. After applying swatches to my hand, I rubbed and tugged on the colors and neither one was going anywhere.

Both offer a variety of colors so I think the decision is up to you. I will personally be buying the drugstore from now on because it is cheaper and the same quality. The smaller amount is worth the smaller price tag.
